Signs of a German cockroach infestation include seeing live roaches, finding egg cases or droppings, and noticing a strong, musty odour. Often cockroaches will come out at night when the kitchen lights are off, if you turn the light on and notice cockroaches scurrying away this is a pretty good indication there are many many more cockroaches out of sight. You might also find dead ones underneath plates or kitchen items when cleaning.
